CLINICAL FELLOW IN HAND SURGERY
The Unit currently has 5 full clinical fellowships of either 6 month or 12 month duration, with varying start times. These are whole-time non-residential Clinical Fellowships in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre at the Royal Derby Hospital. The posts are funded at Registrar grade. UPPER LIMB FELLOWSHIP
An Upper Limb Fellowship (working with Mr Clark and Mr Cresswell) has some sessions in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, the rest being in General Orthopaedics. Initial queries to Mr David Clark, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Derby Hospital.

PULVERTAFT HAND CENTRE
This is a friendly, close and supportive unit, one of the few dedicated to hand surgery in the country. It is nationally and internationally recognised with special areas of interest in hand trauma, wrist, tendon, brachial plexus, rheumatology and particular expertise in orthopaedic, plastic and emergency surgery as well as associated upper limb disorders.
The Hand Centre performs its elective surgery and some trauma surgery in its own Day Case Theatre/Ward Suite on Level 3 of the Kings Treatment Centre.
The Hand Centre has 11 consultants and a dedicated Outpatient Department, incorporating Nursing team, Secretariat, Hand Therapy services (Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy) and Research facility in Level 2 of the Kings Treatment Centre. We also have our own specialist Pulvertaft Library within the Outpatient facility.
There is close liaison with the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Unit .
The Pulvertaft Hand Centre runs several courses in hand surgery and hand therapy (go to Courses section of the website for more details) and has collaborated with the University of Derby to develop an MSc in Hand Therapy.
